I went around Kyiv today to look for some preview pictures ahead of the
opening match of UEFA EURO 2012. While visiting the Rodina Monument in
Pechers'kyi Landshaftnyi Park, I managed to capture this dramatic shot
of a man silhouetted alongside this amazing monument which dominates the
city skyline as he played football in the park.
Alex is an award-winning photographer who came to Getty Images in 1997. He has covered the FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Champions League final, and his work has been published in many of the world's leading publications. Alex is based in Manchester, England, and UEFA EURO 2012 will be his third UEFA European Championship with Getty Images.
